It was my first time in Puerto Rico, and the unfamiliar terrain had me both excited and nervous. Every twist of the road seemed like it was leading me deeper into the unknown. But that’s what I came for—the unexpected, the chance to see something new through my lens. I’d heard of *Cueva Ventana*, or “Window Cave,” and as soon as I set foot inside, I could feel the significance of its name.
The climb through the cave was humid, the earthy smell of damp stone filling my lungs. My skin felt sticky as the heat of the afternoon mixed with the cool darkness inside. Each step echoed, the sounds of my shoes scuffing on the rocky floor blending with distant drips of water that reverberated like whispers from the ancient walls. My mind raced, imagining the view that might await me.
As I emerged from the tunnel, the opening widened, and I stepped into a breathtaking frame of nature. The air suddenly felt lighter, fresher, and the breeze carried the faint scent of wild vegetation. The cave's entrance was perfectly shaped, a rugged window framing an expansive vista of the valley below. The name—*Ventana*—couldn't have been more fitting.
