Every time I thought about capturing the perfect drone shot of the sunrise over Lake Ontario, it seemed impossible. My work schedule left me with only a few chances, and every time I found a morning that worked, the spring winds howled, making it too risky to fly the drone. But I wasn’t going to let that stop me. I wanted to show the world a view of the sunrise from above, like it had never been seen before.
The weather had been relentless—gusty, rainy, and unpredictable. I kept checking the forecast, hoping for a break. And just when I thought I would have to postpone the dream yet again, the wind finally calmed. It was the night before my shot.
